Superintendent Evaluation: According to the Pennsylvania School Code, districts’ school boards are required to develop mutually agreed upon objective performance standards for the superintendent and conduct a formal, written performance assessment of the superintendent annually. The objective performance standards are to be posted on the district’s website. At the end of the annual assessment period, the school board shall post the date of the assessment and whether or not the superintendent met the agreed-to objective performance standards.

The start of a new school year is nearly here. You can already feel the energy and enthusiasm in our buildings as teachers and staff are getting classrooms ready to welcome students. Over the course of the next nine months, students will discover new ideas, master difficult concepts, learn valuable skills, form lifelong friendships, and achieve things they didn’t think they could. This is possible because of your support and investment. Shaler Area is a special place. Your presence, care, and dedication make our community a unique and wonderful place for our young people to grow up. Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year!
