Kindergarten Registration Is Now Open!
We can’t wait to welcome the class of 2037! It’s time to register for kindergarten and begin your child’s educational journey.  
Free Preschool Available for Qualifying Families
A child’s early years are a key time of mental and emotional development, as they form skills that will help them to succeed in school—and beyond. That is why the Shaler Area School District is so pleased that preschool programs are offered at primary schools in our district free of charge to qualifying families.  
Burchfield Primary recognized at annual ASCA conference
In July 2022, Burchfield Primary School was recognized at the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) Annual Conference in Austin, Texas, as a Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP).  
Shaler Area’s Pre-K Counts program expands to Burchfield Primary
Shaler Area is excited to announce its Pre-K Counts program is expanding to Burchfield Primary! The Private Industry Council is now enrolling children for the 2022-23 school year Pre-K Counts Program at Burchfield Primary School. Space is limited, so apply online today or reach out by phone.
Burchfield Primary School receives RAMP designation from ASCA
The American School Counselor Association (ASCA) announced Burchfield Primary as a Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP). The RAMP designation recognizes schools that are committed to delivering a comprehensive, data-informed school counseling program and an exemplary educational environment.  Burchfield Primary is one of 69 schools in 19 states to receive the RAMP designation this year.  
Shaler Area school counselor named Pennsylvania School Counselor of the Year
Congratulations to Shaler Area school counselor Lezlie DelVecchio-Marks on being named Pennsylvania School Counselor of the Year by the Pennsylvania School Counselors Association (PSCA).  
Shaler Area primary schools rank among top in state
Shaler Area is proud to announce all four of its primary schools are ranked among the top elementary schools in Pennsylvania by the U.S. News & World Report.
